US retail sales grew for 4th straight month

US retail sales grew 0.3% in November, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth, according to the Commerce Department, following a 1.8% jump in October as consumers got an earlier-than-usual start on their holiday shopping, according to The New York Times. November sales were up 18.2% from the same month last year, as consumers spent across several industry segments including grocery, clothing and home improvement.
