More hotels and rooms have reopened in the US since March than in any other country, but project deferrals and abandonments have surged here as well, STR reports. With a count of 521 properties comprising 55,395 rooms as of Oct. 1, the US is one of only six nations to open more than 2,000 rooms, far outpacing runner-up China’s 23,470 rooms.
