Target, Amazon aim for net-zero by 2040

Target‘s Vista, California store and Amazon‘s new Amazon Fresh store in Seattle are part of each company’s goals to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and carbon emissions, respectively, by 2040, with both retailers focusing on store designs. Amazon Fresh has placed an emphasis on low-carbon concrete flooring while Target has focused on solar energy, and both retailers are employing measures such as CO2-based refrigeration.
