Simple RV Renovation Tips

The RV industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the United States, and the newer generations are becoming more interested in the RV phenomenon. Millions of people own or rent RVs, mostly for vacations and camping trips. As this industry keeps developing, there is also a higher demand for RV renovation.

RVs can be one of the best investments for a family, since they don’t only make their vacations much more affordable, but can also be rented and become an extra income source. However, this means that the RV should be in top shape and have the latest technology. The Trail Girl is a great information resource for RV equipment.

If you want to have a modern, top-notch RV, there are simple things you can do that will have a great impact on the overall appearance and comfort level of your RV.

Get some new furniture

Some of the RV models can look quite outdated because the same type of furniture is always used for the interior. Especially if you own an older model, the furniture and decorations might have some outdated floral or overly vibrant prints. Also, some of the pieces of furniture could be damaged. The easiest thing you can do is to start replacing some of the furniture.

First, replace some of the old or outdated items with new ones. There are a lot of brands that manufacture furniture for RVs. Then, you could also start adding some new pieces of furniture. Try to make your RV as comfortable as possible, while also looking stylish.

Include backsplashes

A backsplash can really transform the look of a kitchen or a bathroom, and it’s one of the easiest and cost-effective changes you can make. Of course, since we are talking about an RV, standard ceramic backsplashes are not the best idea, but there are plenty of great backsplash alternatives that you can simply stick on walls.

Try to select quality materials that are heat and water-resistant. Even if you get some nasty stains on them, peel-and-stick backsplashes are easily replaceable.

Paint your RV interior

Painting can be tricky, but it’s also one of the things that can totally transform the look of your RV. Painting the interior of the RV in a bright, fresh color is an important step for renovating it. Get rid of the dull, old paint and choose something bright. White, for example, makes the space look wider. But you can also choose any other color that you like, and that would go well with the furniture and everything else.

You can choose between painting the walls only, or the walls as well as the cabinets. If you don’t think you can handle it, it’s best to hire a specialist. It will be worth it because painting alone can upgrade an RV significantly, especially if it’s done right. Also, it’s one of the most complex steps of the renovation process, it takes longer, and you need to have enough time to do it.

Go for laminate floors

The other big change you can make, besides painting, is flooring. Again, this is something that takes time and requires a bigger investment, but it totally pays off. If you are looking to renovate, not just redecorate your RV, replacing that old carpeting with good quality floors is a must. The carpeting that most RVs have looks outdated, while flooring looks much better.

Remember that actual hardwood floors are not recommended for RVs, due to their heaviness. However, laminate floors are a very good alternative that is easy to maintain, and that doesn’t require such a big investment.
