Rosendin, the nation’s largest employee-owned electrical contractor, has been recognized among the best companies for employee training and development. HR industry publication, Training Magazine, honored Rosendin with a 2022 Training APEX Award, ranking the company the second-best in the country at the Training 2022 Conference & Expo in Orlando on February 28.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Rosendin’s Training Teams earned a top ranking, having climbed three spots from last year. The magazine acknowledged Rosendin’s dedication to talent acquisition, a 100% internal promotion rate, and growth in new markets, despite the challenges of the pandemic.
“Our training team quickly adapted to the needs of learners, especially at job sites where essential building projects remained operational, and safety was a priority,” said Rosendin Training Coordinator Kayla Hart. “Moving to virtual training and implementing innovative technology helped us build role-specific programs with a full suite of resource materials.”
One example was shifting the 3-month long Project Management Boot Camp to a virtual workshop to get new managers up to speed. The move cut the time frame to 30-days, saved money, and resulted in greater content retention, validated through an exit exam.
“Our strategies for talent development begin at the recruitment level and continue to career advancement and ongoing talent development to ensure all employees can expand their skills at all stages of professional growth,” said VP of Quality and Training Stephanie Roldan.
Rosendin came in second, right behind Medical Solutions, a healthcare staffing agency. While most of the companies on the top 100 list were health/medical, finance/banking, and business services, several construction companies were honored for continuous learning and organizational success.
“Developing a comprehensive training program is incredibly challenging in the building industry because their workplaces change with each new project. We want to congratulate our industry partners at The Haskell Company, Applied Materials, Gilbane Building Company, Sundt Construction, HMTX Industries, and all the recognized construction teams,” said Mike Greenawalt, Rosendin CEO.
The Training APEX Awards rankings were determined by assessing companies’ employee development programs, including how those programs were tied to the company’s goals, impact on the business and financial investment.
Training Magazine recognized all 100 winners in its March issue and featured the top five companies in its digital issue, along with details on their training efforts. As a leading business publication for learning and development and HR professionals, it has been a powerful resource for learning for over 55-years.
