Publix to raise this year’s capital budget to $1.6B

After the circumstances of the pandemic helped push up its total sales in 2020, Publix is now planning a 33% increase in capital spending for the coming year. The grocer, which has 20 new stores under construction in five states, has allocated $1.6 billion for capital projects, up from the $1.2 billion it spent last year.
