Knives are an essential part of human history whether it’s been for hunting, in the kitchen or as a tool. Over the years, knives have evolved and adapted to certain industries. Nowhere has the knife molded more than in construction with the use of utility knives.

Although they are more closely related to exact knives or razors, the shape and function are the same with a handle, razor for cutting and spare blades.

Despite the prominence of utility knives, there are plenty of other options our there that are beneficial to construction workers, foreman, handymen and others.

The Case for a Pocket Utility Knife

At one point in time, we’ve all owned a pocket knife and they come in a huge variety of forms be it multi-tools like Swiss Army, fixed blade, serrated, straight edge and folding knives.

The main case for pocket knives lies in their versatility and the benefits they provide in comparison to a single utility knife. They are available in a wide range of materials and styles. The utility knife is an essential tool to have for a very particular set of tasks. There are many reasons why you might want another type of blade handy. Additionally, folding knives are safer that the traditional utility knife.

The following are a few things for you to consider.

Multipurpose pocket knives go well beyond being just cutting. Many different tasks can be performed with these knives. For example, take the screwdriver. Many of these types of knives are equipped with them. You might be many miles away from a job site or on site with a work vehicle when your car breaks down. Or perhaps a rubber hose or fuel line has broken.

When a hose breaks or cracks, it will frequently occur at the clamp. The clamp can be removed and then the cracked part can be cut from the hose. Then you just need to reattach the clamp and hose. Your vehicle will then be operational once again. A screwdriver is ideal for prying and many other tasks as well. You might need to have a screwdriver on hand. If you are not able to find one, you will have one right in your pocket. That is very convenient to have on hand.

There are also many types of materials on a construction site that may be too tough to cut with a utility knife which is where a more sturdy pocket knife comes in.

Another benefit is that you don’t have to bring multiple tools as you would with an exactO knife. So you have one less thing that you need to pack.

The same knife you use at work can also be used for extracurricular activities such as hiking, camping or fishing.

You might need tools and be far away from home. Perhaps you need a file, pliers, or scissors. It could happen to anybody. It will be very convenient if you have them with you. It can save you a lot of headaches and time. It can be a real pain to try to find tools. It can sometimes be difficult to find them at home. Now you won’t need to worry about these issues.

Final thoughts

It is very convenient and important to own multipurpose knives. They can be used for many different tasks. They provide a surprising number of tools and benefits compared to a single use/purpose knife.Pocj
