Monograph, a practice operations platform for design professionals, is excited to announce Ernie Miller has joined the team as its new Head of Engineering. Exemplary of Monograph’s continued growth in the architecture and engineering industries, the Head of Engineering role will play a critical part in ensuring the Monograph program runs smoothly as the firm continues toward revolutionizing how architectural projects are managed.

“Maintaining and improving our high standard of software is of utmost importance as Monograph expands to new architecture and design firms,” said Monograph’s CEO and Co-Founder Robert Yuen. “We are confident that Miller not only possesses all of the necessary tools and knowledge to lead our engineering department but meets all standards we look for in adding to our team. As practice operations continue to evolve with hybrid and remote work, Miller will be integral in helping our team grow.”

In his new role, Miller hopes to increase efficiency within the team in place and add new talent who share the same like-minded principles. With previous experience as an engineering leader, the 20-year professional believes that a successful company and department merge the benefits of technology and its relationship with team members. Miller is most excited about being in a role that can have a significant impact in a growing industry. Seeking ways to improve the architecture and design industry, Miller plans to manufacture software that clients can navigate and interact with effortlessly.

“I’m thrilled to be part of a company that is already making an impact in the AEC industry. The team is already in a great position, and I look forward to taking it to the next level in 2022,” said Miller. “Monograph’s culture and emphasis on employee wellness are what prompted me to join the team. During the interview process, I learned that this was a company led by people who care about their team members and bet on people first.”

Monograph has grown from 8 to 40 team members in the past year, creating new opportunities for the startup. Additionally, the company recently closed $20-million Series B funding, which will further assist the company’s acceleration as the premier practice operations platform for the architecture community.  With sudden growth, Miller believes the most crucial attribute a successful company can have is how it values team members. A key initiative for Miller is creating a sustainable workplace that focuses on employees and their workplace. A positive work environment can empower team members to be themselves leading to an increase in mental health and overall work performance. As the Monograph team continues to expand, Miller will search for engineers who possess a growth mentality and are willing to mentor and be mentored.

About Monograph:

Monograph is a practice operations platform tailored to the architecture, design, and engineering industries. Founded in 2019 by architectural designers Robert Yuen, Alex Dixon, and Moe Amaya, the technology company has helped firms manage over $550 million in projects of all scales. The cloud-based system is intuitively designed for AEC professionals to oversee projects, timesheets, and forecasts in one simple and integrated interface to inform decisions about their business and projects in real-time. Monograph’s evolving features reflect the profession’s specificities as every component is inspired by the founders’ experiences within the field and what they discovered was missing from the architect’s toolkit. The Monograph team, which was named among ArchDaily’s Best Young Practices of 2020, is disrupting the status quo by ridding firms of the ineffective spreadsheets and tools that treat cost, resource, and project management as separate activities. With Monograph, professionals are empowered with a solution that syncs a firm’s range of tasks and responsibilities together in one cohesive workflow. The expanded efficiencies ultimately help firms provide a better client experience, as well as design and operate a more collaborative, transparent, and profitable business.
