Macy’s, Sephora, Foot Locker plan off-mall footprints

Retailers are rethinking their strategies as they plan new store openings, moving away from large spaces in enclosed malls in favor of smaller stores in open-air centers. Macy’s 20,000-square-foot Market by Macy’s format features a smaller selection of popular brands, and smaller concepts from Sephora and Foot Locker feature collections tailored to local tastes.
