JCJ Architecture, the forward-thinking and nationally ranked planning, architecture, and interior design firm, is pleased to announce that the Hakkasan Grid project  has been awarded the Platinum Award under the Experiential and Immersive Category, for this year’s  Muse Awards.

“JCJ Architecture is thrilled to be a part of the outstanding team involved in the Hakkasan Grid project,” said Mike Larson, Senior Associate at JCJ Architecture’s Las Vegas office. “Projects like this are pushing the boundaries of hospitality and entertainment design, and we are gratified to see this innovative installation receive the recognition it deserves.

The Hakkasan Grid is a multimillion-dollar, custom-built kinetic light installation that sets the benchmark for luxury nightlife throughout the world and breaks down silos between entertainment, art, and technology. It is an immersive dancing ceiling that enhances the venue’s previous design and transforms the show experience for the club’s audiences. The Hakkasan Grid is the largest permanent kinetic light installation in the United States.

The Hakkasan Grid enhances the experience and design of the world-renowned Hakkasan Nightclub, located at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. JCJ Architecture served as Architectural Consultant on the project, collaborating closely with Box of Wishes and design studio in charge WHITEvoid to create the installation. The grid consists of 57, 4-foot seamless and sculptural custom-made Kinetic Lights pixel-mapped LED triangles that combine to form the 35-foot showpiece, which transforms itself into infinite shapes and colors. On-site project execution took place over 6 weeks, without closing the nightclub during that period.

”Mike Larson from JCJ is the sort of architect and Jeff Gooch from BRG is the sort of General contractor that are instrumental in helping us make a unique, never-before-done, time-sensitive project like this happen,” said Lisiane Roncato, Executive Producer at Box of Wishes. “ It was a great pleasure to work with these innovative leaders.  It is no surprise why they are so well regarded by their clients and collaborators. Mike showed exemplary leadership by carefully listening to all the design intent and technical concerns to ensure a beautiful result that could also coast smoothly through the permitting process.”

The Muse Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals who inspire others to greater heights with their concept ideas or designs.
