Dewitt Tilton Group, a leading commercial construction firm, won three prestigious Master Builder Awards, one Top 10 Award, and a 2019 Outstanding Builder Award from Star Building Systems of Oklahoma City for 2019 projects. Founded in 1927, Star partners with local builders nationwide, providing metal building systems and products, estimating software, cutting-edge design tools and extensive training.

Dewitt Tilton Group was one of only two builders to receive Master Builder recognition for two separate projects. “It was very exciting to see that we won not just one, but both of the categories we submitted projects in,” said Kim Thomas, director of operations. “We have been working with Star for nearly six years and we are thrilled to be partners in commercial construction. To receive three of the Master Builder Awards, Best of Shopping Centers, Best of the Georgia District, and Best of the Mid-South District, is truly an honor and a testament to the successful relationship between The Dewitt Tilton Group and Star,” added Chris Tilton, one of the two company principals. “The Top 10 Award, 2019 Outstanding Builder Award, and Best of the Georgia District were unexpected surprises.”
In the Best of the Georgia District and the Best of Shopping Centers, Dewitt Tilton Group was honored for Jeff’s Beverage in Richmond Hill, Georgia, a 10,400 square foot facility. The project utilized a metal roof system in Galvalume Plus and Light Stone metal panels on the walls. Spandrels provided by Star were used to create a parapet wall. The interior features an exposed roof with faced insulation in black, spiral ducts and warehouse-style lights.
The Best of the Mid-South District win was for a Livingood’s Appliances and Bedding location in Pooler, a 12,000 sq. ft. structure with a large, open showroom. This commercial space combined a DoubleLok roof system in Galvalume with a metal panel wall system in Desert Sand. The showroom dictated the need for a clear-span structure, while parapet walls created a beautiful exterior façade.
The Master Builder Awards are based on design and innovation that pushes the industry envelope. Additionally, Dewitt Tilton Group also claimed a Top 10 Award for the highest sales volume in the Georgia District and a 2019 Award for Outstanding Builder. Previously, the firm earned a 2018 Outstanding Builder Award, and a 2016 Master Builder Award for Best of the Mid-South District from Star.
