Bike shops pedal faster amid the pandemic

Bike stores were deemed essential businesses during the pandemic in many US states and bicycle sales grew 50% in March over last year, according to NPD Group data. Consumers sheltering at home bought bikes for exercise, and essential workers are using them for transportation as public transit options have become more limited.
