1. Wear protective gear

Even if you’ve cleared out the larger construction debris, there may still be dangerous debris in there that can be harmful. 

However, wearing a PPE suit might be too much of an investment for a one-time post-construction clean-up. Instead, what you can do is hire a professional office cleaner who knows their way around post-construction clean-up. That way, you won’t have to spend a fortune on protective gears as they likely have one. 

2. Vacuum your upholstery

If you haven’t removed any upholstery or office furniture pieces, make sure that you thoroughly clean them. Even furniture outside of the construction zone might still have accumulated dust and debris from the construction.

4. Use a microfiber cloth

You should dampen the microfiber cloth when wiping away dust. Otherwise, a dry microfiber cloth can sweep away the dust from surfaces instead of picking them up to get rid of them. 

On the other hand, soaking your microfiber cloth too much could turn the dust into muddy dirt. This can stick on walls and will be more challenging to remove. Therefore, you should make sure that you wrung out the cloth first before you use it to wipe the surfaces.  

5. Run an air purifier

Before letting your employees into the office, make sure that you run an air purifier on high throughout the day first. You’re going to frequently change or wash the air filters of the air purifier during this period. Still, the help of an air purifier is valuable in keeping the breathable air as clean as possible before welcoming people into it. 

The standard air purifiers won’t suffice for a post-construction state. Therefore, make sure that you have air purifiers that are best for post-construction. This is to ensure that you efficiently and effectively cleanse the air around the office. 

6. Do pressure washing

If you also had an external office construction, consider a pressure washing session to make it cleaner.
Using a pressure washer to clean your office’s exterior walls will be more convenient instead of having to wipe down these surfaces manually. For one, the water pressure softens whatever debris you have to clean. Second, the water can seep into every nook and cranny of your office’s exterior walls. 

However, you can’t use pressure washers indoors since indoor fixtures can get damaged by the pressure washer. Also, make sure to avoid using pressure washers on places like the windows and doors. These areas can’t survive the same pressure that your walls might have, so be extra careful when cleaning in these areas. 

Better yet, consider hiring a professional pressure washer since they’ll know which areas to avoid, and they may be more efficient at it than you will.
