CoStar expects that about $320 billion in distressed assets could reach the market during the next five years, with about $28 billion in retail assets hitting the market this year and next. So far, the number of distressed properties on the market has been limited due to the government relief effort and lenders’ willingness to work with troubled borrowers, analysts note.
