Modular units offer speed, cost savings as Checkers maps growth

Checkers Drive-In Restaurants aims to grow from 870 units to 1,200 by 2020, with many of the new locations built from modular kits that are constructed off-site, a model that costs about $100,000 less than the traditional build. The 950-square-foot units arrive by crane with bathrooms and other equipment installed, and can be moved to a new location later if necessary. Read the QSR story here
