The nationally renowned consultancy in acoustical, audiovisual, IT and security design, Cerami & Associates, Inc. has announced the naming of its new Director of Business Development based in the New York Office, Vanessa Crews. According to the firm, Crews is a well-established figure in the New
York metro area and its vibrant construction and real estate industries. She brings a number of special capabilities to the firm, including deep expertise in professional services, architecture and business development for internationally regarded for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
Announcing the move earlier this week, the firm’s CEO, Victoria J. Cerami, said, “Vanessa Crews brings diverse talents and experience to Cerami, having worked as director of development for the AIA New York Chapter’s Center for Architecture and as a senior manager of Business Development for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.”
According to the firm, Crews has also served as associate director of development for The New School, a major university in New York City. “She is a senior development professional with a strong background in architecture as well as in education, diversity, and leadership” Victoria Cerami added. “She exemplifies our firm’s mission of passionate responsibility for the built environment and our commitment to mentorship. We are delighted to add her to our team.”
Crews, who holds her Bachelors degree in both Political Science and International Studies from Stonehill College in Massachusetts, also earned a Master’s Degree of Art in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury, Brussels School of International Studies.
The firm adds that Crews has expressed excitement to be returning to the A/C/E community after her successful work in nonprofit organizations. Her past engagements and positions have included very high-profile posts in such prestigious organizations such as The 92nd Street Y, the nonprofit Computers for Youth, and the internationally renowned Global Peace Foundation, founded by Desmond Tutu.
As Director of Business Development based in the New York Office, Crews will bring to bear her diverse talents and experience in the architecture and building industry to develop business with architects and building owners in such areas as commercial and corporate buildings, cultural & civic facilities, schools and universities, education, healthcare, hospitality and sports projects. Crews will also develop new clientele in mission-critical facilities such as data centers, science and research labs, broadcast and production studios, as well as transportation centers.
