Global design leader Carrier Johnson + CULTURE has announced that urban design expert Martin Flores, PLA, ASLA, APA, has joined the firm in the role of Director of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning.
Bringing with him over 34 years of experience in public and private practice, Flores most recently headed urban design as a principal for the eight-office, 430-employee Rick Engineering Co. There and in previous positions, he led efforts in large-scale master planning, infill development, public realm streetscape infrastructure, and more.
In his new role with Carrier Johnson + CULTURE, Flores also brings to bear essential experience in public outreach and participatory design.
“Martin has a peerless commitment to design that unites aesthetics and sustainability,” says Vincent Mudd, managing partner with Carrier Johnson + CULTURE. “We believe he can foster that same sense of commitment within our organization, and among clients and community.”
Flores also recently spent an academic year as a visiting lecturer at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, the same institution where he completed undergraduate work in landscape architecture.
